What is Geziro?
Geziro is a free travel guide that brings Istanbul's historic sites, restaurants, cafés, bars and nature spots together on a single map. It also offers step-by-step walking and food routes.
How are places selected?
Our editors choose every place. You'll find the spots we love and the ones we'd take a friend visiting Istanbul for the first time. We didn't list everywhere, only the places we think are worth going to.
Where do the ratings come from?
The score you see combines the Google rating with our editors' rating. We value Google ratings, but our editors have the final say: they check each score against our own criteria before setting it.
How accurate are the locations?
Every coordinate is verified individually against the real business pin on Google Maps. We care about this because "Get directions" should take you to the venue's door, not the next street over.
Are the opening hours current?
Hours are checked regularly, but venues can change them without notice. If you are travelling a long way, we recommend confirming with the venue directly before you set out.
How do I use the routes?
On a route page, press "Walk the route" to move through it stop by stop, and use "Get directions" at each stop to navigate there. Routes are designed to be completed on foot.
Can I write a review?
Yes. Once signed in you can leave a rating and review from any place page. Reviews are moderated before publication to filter out spam and abuse.
Who owns the photographs?
Some photos are our own and some are used under a Creative Commons license. Creative Commons photos show the photographer's name and license information underneath. Places without a photo show a category-specific background.
I found incorrect information — what should I do?
Email us at hello@geziro.com. Reports of wrong locations, closed venues or outdated hours are especially valuable to us — we check and correct every one.
